Aspen, Colorado

Aspen is located 200 miles southwest of Denver at an elevation of 7,900 feet in the midst of the White River National Forest, near some of the most spectacular scenery in Colorado.

A wide variety of activities are offered in the summer, including music, dance, theater, hiking, climbing, fly-fishing, white water rafting, biking, golf, tennis, horseback riding, hot air ballooning, back country jeeping, shopping, dining, scenic airplane tours, and wilderness houseboat tours on a scenic mountain lake. Many local attractions include the Wheeler Opera House, Aspen Historical ociety, Aspen Art Museum, Aspen Summer Music and Dance Festivals, and the Ashcroft ghost town.

The famed Aspen Music Festival boasts more than 200 musical events over a period of nine weeks, featuring symphonic, chamber, choral and opera performances. Passes to the festival will be available to conference attendees at a reduced rate.

Colorado weather features warm days, cool evenings and occasional afternoon showers. Bring clothing suitable for temperatures between 50 and 80 degrees. Casual wear is recommended.
